Katie Dixon wins a Premier's Award for Outstanding Research Scholar
At the Cancer Institute Dinner of May 22nd, 2008, the Minister assisting the Minister for Health, Verity Firth, announced that Katie Dixon from Physiology and the Bosch Insititute had won a Premier's Award for Outstanding Research Scholar for her work on how vitamin D compounds protect skin from UV damage. The award includes a trophy and a cash prize of $10,000.
Katie recently completed her PhD with Professor Rebecca Mason, co-supervised by A/Prof Vivienne Reeve (Vet Pathology) and Prof Gary Halliday (Dermatology) and has moved on to a post-doctoral position with Prof Des Richardson - so she is still part of Bosch.
