Dr Matt Naylor
Dr Naylor is Head of the Developmental & Cancer Biology Group, School of Medical Sciences & Bosch Institute at the University of Sydney. He is a National Health & Medical Reserch Council & National Breast Cancer Foundation of Australia Fellow, and a Senior Lecturer, Physiology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Sydney. Dr Naylor also holds Honorary Appointments at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research and the Faculty of Medicine, University of New South Wales.
Dr Naylor graduated from the University of New South Wales with a PhD in 2003 after undertaking his candidature in mammary gland development and breast cancer in the Cancer Research Program, Garvan Institute of Medical Research. Dr Naylor subsequently undertook postdoctoral research with Prof Charles Streuli at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Cell-Matrix Research, Manchester, UK, before returning to the Garvan Institute in 2006. Following success with funding from the NHMRC, ARC, Cancer Council NSW, NBCF and Cancer Institute NSW, Dr Naylor established his laboratory at the Garvan Institute in 2007. In 2011, Dr Naylor moved his lab over from the Garvan Institute to the University of Sydney to take up a Faculty Position in the School of Medical Sciences.
