Professor Sefton is involved as Associate Dean, Curriculum Development with the Graduate Medical Program, run by the Faculty of Medicine.
The work of the Vision Laboratory (see report for Paul Martin) concerns the substrates of visual perception. The anatomical properties of cells in the retina and central visual pathways are being studied using immunocytochemical and neuroanatomical tracing methods. Extracellular recording and linear systems analysis of single cell activity are used to study the responses of cells in the subcortical visual pathways.
